Notes for all offices:
On 7/14/2020, the Department of State announced the resumption of routine visa services on a post-by-post basis depending on local circumstances. According to the DOS website, “local conditions that may affect when we can begin providing various public services include medical infrastructure, COVID-19 cases, emergency response capabilities, and restrictions on leaving home.”
All U.S. missions are providing emergency and mission-critical visa services. Applicants with an urgent matter and need to travel immediately should follow the guidance provided at the Embassy’s website to request an emergency appointment. The following situations may qualify you for an emergency appointment:
A medical emergency
Death of an immediate family member,
A business emergency
U-Non-immigrant visa applicants
Student visas F, M & J
As of 8/28/2020, U.S. Embassies and Consulates are giving K visa cases high priority. The I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) is typically valid for four months; however, consular officers may revalidate the I-129F petition in four-month increments.
The U.S. Department of State has extended the validity of all visa fees (MRV fees) until December 31, 2021.
